It’s always a delight to find a pattern that creates a new fashionable option for a cancer patient.
It’s always a delight to find a new yarn that is soft, especially one that is washable.

Mix these two together, add in lightweight enough to comfort in summer and the result is a wonderful new hat and yarn to share with our Halos of Hope volunteers.

The pattern is “The Brenda Hat”, free download from the Cascade Yarns website.  A little slouch, an easy knit, very stylish.  Add a flower and button, and make an adorbs hat to cool and comfort a cancer patient this summer.

The yarn is Sateen Worsted by Cascade Yarns.  225 yards of incredibly soft acrylic.
Our sample color way is called “pumpkin”, but it seems more like peach.

The Brenda Hat will use about 3/4 of the skein yardage, given the additional hat length.  Sateen Worsted used for a cloche or beanie style hat should net two hats.  Price point? Approximately $5.00 per skein.  For a Cascade Yarn available in most local yarn shops.

Just a little sneak peek, because this will be our free, featured knit pattern option at Stitches Midwest this year. Our events team tells me we might have a few ‘kits’ to give away as door prizes during Market hours.  Booth 419 - come and visit us.

Can’t wait until then? Download the pattern, and get to your local yarn shop carrying Cascade Yarns.  Cast it on.  Let us know in the comments if you had as much fun with this one as we did.  Soft and stylish for summer, and beyond.

Cascade Yarns is one of our Hope Sponsors, and we thank them for their support.  We encourage volunteers to visit their local yarn shops to purchase yarn.  Many local yarn shops also help us as donation locations.  If your local yarn shop is interested in being a Halos of Hope Donation Location, please have them contact us at info@halosofhope.org.
